Membership Meeting Minutes Feb 7, 2024
The February 2024 Membership Meeting of the Moore County Kennel Club of North Carolina was held on February 7, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the meeting room of The Table on the Green Restaurant, 2205 Midland Rd, Pinehurst, NC.
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by the Corresponding Secretary Ellen Pfann who assumed the Chair until the arrival of the President who then assumed the Chair and the Recording Secretary being present.
In attendance were President Jane Hammett-Bright; Vice President Carol Dowd; Treasurer Melissa DeWitt; Corresponding Secretary Ellen Pfann; Recording Secretary Jefferie Cade; BOD members Kathy Pellerino, Ursula Walsh; members Shara Bunker, Shelly Hohm, Majorie Riddle Watson, Giselle Engleko, Kathy Scheidemann, Lynn Cox, Lynda Green, John and Mary Jo Stockman, Robert and Ruth Stolting, and Myranda Lee.
A quorum was achieved.
Guests in attendance: John Zopatti, Myranda Lee, Katrina Haskell, Kenneth and Diane Shedarowich, Chelsea Schalton, Payton Carnall, Heather Carnall, Cyndi Klepper, and Aisha Wilson.
The Treasurer’s report was received, and Jefferie Cade moved to file the report. Ellen Pfann seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Treasurer Melissa DeWitt reported January receipts of $22,905.00 and January disbursements of $16,540.56. Funds available at the end of January 2024 in the various Club accounts equal $83,496.69.
The Membership report was read by Marjorie Riddle Watson: Applications for membership for Emma Lambeth and Katrina Haskell were approved previously by the Board and read for the first time to the assembled membership. Applications for membership from Ken and Diane Shedarowich, Myranda Lee, Michael Brosnick, Tracy Rauch, Alice Donoho, Boo Donoho, Kristina Lengel, Lynn and Kevin Bain, Nancy Rawlinson, and John Zopatti were read for the second time.
Naomi Johnson moved to accept the memberships of Ken and Diane Shedarowich, Myranda Lee, Michael Brosnick, Tracy Rauch, Alice Donoho, Boo Donoho, Kristina Lengel, Lynn and Kevin Bain, Nancy Rawlinson, and John Zopatti, duly seconded by Jefferie Cade, and the motion passed unanimously.
President Jane Hammett-Bright reported a Fit Dog walk event will be held at Weymouth Woods Nature Preserve on March 2, 2024. The Fast Cat competition trial February runs are full.
Jefferie Cade moved to send funds for lunch materials for the Fast Cat trials to the Sheltie Club to handle luncheon for the trials. Kathy Pellerino seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
The Agility Committee report was made by Ursula Walsh. The MCKCNC agility Trials February 19-21st at the Rising Star Canine Ranch were successful, rendering a profit of $7,921.00.
The Trophy report was made by Jefferie Cade. Bills to those making pledges for trophy sponsorship for the April Conformation Shows will go out by e-mail shortly.
Jefferie Cade moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting (January 3, 2024) and approve those minutes as printed in the Barker, duly seconded by Giselle Engleka, and the motion passed unanimously.
The MCKCNC Board requests input from the membership regarding activities or charities the organization may wish to fund for insertion into the budget formulation for 2024.
The next membership meeting will be held on March 6, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at The Table on the Green Restaurant, Pinehurst, NC
Jane Hammett-Bright moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:02 p.m., duly seconded by Carol Dowd, and passed unanimously.
