Trophy Donations & Volunteer Needed
We’re already gearing up for the 2026 Palmetto to Pines Cluster, coming next April — and we need your help to make it shine! Trophy donations are now being accepted to support awards for Conformation and Rally. Your contribution helps recognize excellence in the ring and keeps our event one of the best in the region.
Donations are due by December 1, 2025.
We’re also looking for a Trophy Chair to help coordinate the process. If you enjoy organizing details and celebrating success, this is a great way to get involved and make a real impact.

If you are interested in donating a breed specific trophy, please download the form below and return it to Marjorie Riddle Watson (mail or email) by December 1, 2025.
Awards need to be specific…designate a breed, a trophy (what “win”), a description of the trophy, and the donor. Feel free to write on the back of the form if you need more room.
Example:
Breed – Airedale Terrier
Trophy – Thursday Winner’s Bitch only
Description of trophy – crystal dish (or whatever you want to give)
Donor – your name

September Meeting Minutes
Meetings from our September 3, 2025 General Membership Meeting have been published and can be found in our Members Only area. We hope to see you at our next meeting on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
SEPTEMBER FIT DOG CLUB WALK!
It’s time to get walking again! Now that summer is over, we’re heading back out on the trails. First up for the Fall rotation is the Leash to Lager Loop! This is a popular walk that starts at the Pinehurst Brewery parking lot, loops through the nearby Arboretum, and then returns to the Brewery for pints with our pups in their dog-friendly Beer Garden. Be sure to order a “Pup Cup” for your dog!!
We’ll meet at 2:00 p.m. at the brewery parking lot.
This event is open to everyone and is a great way for folks to meets Club members and learn more about what we do.
See you there!

MCKC Donates to SPPD K-9
Moore County Kennel Club Helps Bring New K-9 Officer to Southern Pines Police Department
The Moore County Kennel Club is proud to support the Southern Pines Police Department in welcoming their newest K-9 officer, Zasa, a talented Belgian Malinois who will officially join the force in mid-June.
Through a partnership with AKC Reunite, the MCKC contributed $2,500 toward Zasa’s purchase, allowing the police department to apply for an AKC Reunite K-9 Cop Grant. Upon approval, AKC Reunite provided an additional $7,500, ensuring Zasa’s addition to the team.
A check presentation ceremony took place on March 13, 2025, with AKC Reunite President & CEO Tom Sharp on hand to present the grant funding. MCKC Vice President Carol Dowd presented the club’s contribution, joined by Sergeant Jason Embler, Chief of Police Nick Polidori, MCKC Board Member Kathy Pellerino, and MCKC member Nancy Rawlinson.
We are honored to play a role in strengthening local law enforcement and look forward to seeing Zasa in action as she serves and protects our community!
March Fit Dog Club Walk
Our Club Fit Dog walk will take place this Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm. We will be enjoying the Weymouth Woods Nature Preserve in Southern Pines. Meet in the parking lot just before 2:00 pm! This is a nice hike….dogs and people alike will enjoy it!
