Betty reported our December 2022 net balance is $75,961.12 (compared to $82,649.65 in December 2021). Overall, our charitable expenditures accounted for approximately $4,200 of that difference – in 2021 we donated $16,200 to charity, versus $20,498 in 2022. Betty’s recommendations for 2023 donation can be found on the MCKC Charitable Contributions Report (1/1/10-2022).

Naomi Johnson’s Bluetick Hound, Dixie, had some lovely agility runs at the CPE Agility Trials in Bon-Clyde with 4 First Places and 1 3rd Place Finish.
Moore County Kennel Club is an avid participant in AKC Reunite’s Adopt-A-Cop program. When the club donates $2,500 to a K9 Unit, the AKC will augment with an additional $7,500. Many police department K-9 units are suffering budget cuts and they are unable to solicit money due to town and municipality codes. The donations from AKC Reunite and AKC Clubs allow the police department’s need for a new K-9 to become a reality.
Our Club continues to gain in popularity! Membership Secretary Marjorie Riddle Watson read 11 candidates to those in attendance at our January Membership Meeting. Six of them were eligible to be voted in at the January 2024 Meeting.
